The work we value
Good store research starts with curiosity and the willingness to change a conclusion when the evidence changes. Clear writing matters just as much: a reader should be able to understand a finding, follow its source and see its limitations without needing specialist knowledge.
As StraightReview develops, these are the qualities we value in editorial and production work. This page describes our approach to future opportunities. Details of genuine vacancies will appear in the opportunities section below when recruitment opens.
Skills that make a difference
- Research: finding relevant primary sources, recording what they establish and recognizing what they do not.
- Writing: turning complex or conflicting information into readable, fair and specific explanations.
- Editorial judgement: separating facts from opinion, considering alternative explanations and responding well to corrections.
- Accessible design: making information easier to navigate, read and understand across devices and access needs.
- Responsible production: using publishing tools carefully, checking output and disclosing the context that matters to readers.
The standard is useful, accountable work. A confident tone or an impressive-looking document is not a substitute for a sound source.
Current opportunities
No current vacancies are advertised on this page. We are not accepting speculative applications through the website at present. Please do not send résumés or personal recruitment documents unless a genuine opportunity includes a specific application route.
If recruitment opens, an opportunity should explain the role, relevant location or remote arrangement, application method and material terms. A listing on another website should not be treated as authorized unless it can be checked against an active opportunity published here.
Check unexpected approaches
Do not send money, banking credentials or identity documents to someone simply because they claim to recruit for StraightReview. If you receive an unexpected approach, verify it by emailing contact@straightreview.com rather than relying only on the contact details in the message.
For other questions about the publication, use our contact page. Please send only the information needed to explain the issue.
Clear sources. Useful context. A considered view.
