Tell us what needs another look

A challenged statement deserves an evidence-based response. Readers, retailers and other affected people can raise a factual error, an important omission, an unclear disclosure or another concern about StraightReview content. Email contact@straightreview.com and use a subject that identifies the store or page.

A different opinion does not, by itself, establish that a factual statement is wrong. New information can still justify revisiting a conclusion. Our aim is to understand the issue and make the published account more accurate, rather than defend wording simply because it is already online.

Help us check the disputed point

  • The full URL of the page concerned.
  • The exact sentence, claim or omission you want us to consider.
  • The correction or clarification you believe is needed.
  • A reliable source, dated document or other relevant evidence supporting the request.
  • Any relationship you have with the business, if relevant to understanding the information.

Please distinguish a correction request from a request for an alternative opinion. If an external source has changed, include the current URL and explain what changed. A retailer response is welcome, but a statement from the retailer is not automatically independent corroboration of the disputed fact.

Our correction standard

Our standard is to check the point against the relevant evidence, seek clarification where needed and amend material inaccuracies. If a correction changes the substance of an assessment, we should include a dated note explaining the meaningful change. Spelling, punctuation, layout and other minor presentation fixes may be made without a separate correction note.

We may update a conclusion when reliable new evidence changes the picture. A business cannot buy removal of accurate criticism, and a positive assessment does not prevent a later concern from being reported. We do not guarantee a particular outcome or publish a response deadline that we cannot consistently meet.

Represent a reviewed business? Our retailer response instructions explain how to identify a factual issue, document a changed policy and supply attributable evidence. A submitted response does not guarantee publication or a change of verdict.

Protect your information

Redact full payment-card numbers, account passwords, identity documents and unrelated personal details. An order reference may help you organize a complaint to a store, but StraightReview usually does not need it to examine a claim in an article. Our privacy policy explains how correspondence is used.

StraightReview publishes store assessments; it does not process the store's orders, returns or refunds. For an unresolved purchase, contact the retailer and, where appropriate, your payment provider. An editorial correction request is a separate process from an order dispute.

Clear sources. Useful context. A considered view.
